在1999年，奧布萊恩出演了他的第一部故事片，虛擬性慾。2002年，他在“24小時派對狂”中出演重要角色。
在2001年HBO廣受好評的電視劇系列“兄弟連”中，他扮演二等兵Allen Vest，在“最後的巡邏”這一集中佔有重要戲份。
