John Ondrasik

Five For Fighting是美國創作型歌手John Ondrasik的藝名，實際上，Five For Fighting這個詞原來是曲棍球比賽中的一項規則，指被裁判罰下場5分鐘等待重新上場的隊員。John Ondrasik出生併成長於洛杉磯的San Fernando Valley地區，母親是一位鋼琴教師。從兩歲開始，John Ondrasik就開始跟隨母親學習音樂。在13歲那年，已經精通鋼琴演奏的John Ondrasik開始自學了吉他。之後，John Ondrasik開始嘗試自己作曲。興趣廣泛的John Ondrasik甚至還專門學習過唱歌劇，但過了不久，他就發現歌劇並不是他真正喜歡的，最吸引他的還是比利·喬（Billy Joel），旅行樂隊（Journey），埃爾頓·約翰（Elton John），史蒂夫·旺德（Stevie Wonder）和Earth, Wind & Fire樂隊的音樂。

1997年，John Ondrasik以“Five For Fighting”這個名字在Capitol公司發行了他的首張個人專輯《Message for Albert》。三年之後，Five For Fighting的第二張專輯《America Town》通過Columbia正式發行。在這張專輯中，John Ondrasik的歌曲不僅一如既往的歌頌愛與生命，而且開始逐漸偏向政治，而Ondrasik的創作才華開始得到越來越多歌迷的認可。由於專輯中單曲“Superman (It's Not Easy)”在美國的成功推出，《America Town》銷量很快突破了白金。由於精簡單曲“100 Years”和專輯的連續大賣，2004年的專輯《The Battle for Everything》也迅速在市場上大賣。2006年8月，Five For Fighting第四張錄音室專輯《Two Lights》出爐。本張專輯發行首周以5萬2千張的單週銷量名列Billboard 200專輯榜第八位，成為Five For Fighting迄今為止首周銷量最高，打榜成績最好的專輯。
