HLB值

HLB值（Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance Number）稱親水疏水平衡值，也稱水油度。1949年由 W.C.Griffin 率先提出HLB值論點，説明表面活性劑分子中的親水基團與親油基團的平衡關係。在HLB中H"Hydrophile" 表示親水性，L為"Lipophilic"表示親油性，B是"Balance"表示平衡的意思。

HLB=親水基的親水性/親油基的親油性

表面活性劑的親油或親水程度可以用HLB值的大小判別，HLB值越大代表親水性越強，HLB值越小代表親油性越強，一般而言HLB值從1 ~ 40之間。它既與表面活性劑的親水親油性有關，又與表面活性劑的表面（界面）張力、界面上的吸附性、乳化性及乳狀液穩定性、分散性、溶解性、去污性等基本性能有關，還與表面活性劑的應用性能有關。HLB在實際應用中有重要參考價值。親油性表面活性劑HLB較低，親水性表面活性劑HLB較高。親水親油轉折點HLB為10。HLB小於10為親油性，大於10為親水性。

1949 年 Griffin 提出了 HLB 值的概念,將非離子表面活性劑的 HLB 值的範圍定為 0 ～ 20 ，將疏水性最大的完全由飽和烷烴基組成的石蠟的 HLB 值定為 0 ，將親水性最大的完全由親水性的氧乙烯基組成的聚氧乙烯的 HLB 值定為 20 ，其他的表面活性劑的 HLB 值則介於 0 ～ 20 之間。HLB 值越大，其親水性越強， HLB 值越小，其親油性越強。隨着新型表面活性劑的不斷問世，已有親水性更強的品種應用於實際，如月桂醇硫酸鈉的 HLB 值為 40。

表面活性劑由於在油 - 水界面上的定向排列而具有降低界面張力的作用，所以其親水與親油能力應適當平衡。如果親水或親油能力過大，則表面活性劑就會完全溶於水相或油相中，很少存在於界面上，難以達到降低界面張力的作用。表面活性劑的 HLB 值不同，其用途也不同

非離子表面活性劑的 HLB 值還可利用一些經驗公式計算得出，例如：

HLB=7+11.7 lgM_W /M₀

式中 M_W 和 M₀ 分別為表面活性劑分子中親水基團和親油基團的分子量。

非離子表面活性劑的 HLB 值具有加和性，因而可利用以下公式來計算兩種和兩種以上表面活性劑混合後的 HLB 值：

式中 W_A 和 W_B 分別表示表面活性劑 A 和 B 的量， HLB_A 和 HLB_B 則分別是 A 和 B 的 HLB 值， HLB_AB 為混合後的表面活性劑 HLB 值。

1~3作消泡劑；：

3~6作W/O型乳化劑；

7~9作潤濕劑；

8~18作O/W型乳化劑；

13~15作去污劑；

15~18作增溶劑。

水溶解性法是估計HLB約值的常用方法，十分簡便快捷
