當地時間2011年10月20日星期四，成立14年的愛爾蘭流行組合西城男孩（Westlife）在官網發佈瞭解散聲明。

2012年告別巡迴演唱會後，尼基-伯恩（Nicky Byrne）、尚恩-費蘭（Shane Filan）、馬克-菲海利（Mark Feehily）和奇恩-伊根（Kian Egan）四位成員將正式各奔東西，各自開始新的歷程。為答謝各位樂迷，Westlife將官方發佈14年來的經典專輯《Greatest Hits》

據瞭解, 這張全新專輯精選集將收錄Westlife18首經典熱門單曲, 其中包括了冠軍單曲 Swear It Again 以及備受樂迷喜愛的 Flying Without Wings 以及 Uptown Girl. 值得一提的是, Westlife上月剛剛發佈了樂隊的最新主打單曲 Lighthouse, 這支單曲由英國 X Factor 的評委Take That成員Gary Barlow親自創作.

此外, 該專輯還將收錄Beautiful World, Wide Open以及Last Mile of the Way等新歌. 而這張專輯也是Westlife離開英美選秀節目毒舌評審Simon Cowell自設廠牌Syco Music後, 投身索尼旗下RCA品牌唱片發行的首張專輯.

這張全新專輯收錄的主打單曲Lighthouse將計劃在11月14日正式發行, 而整張專輯 Greatest Hits將在11月21日正式面世. 此後, 樂隊將進入為期兩年的休整期.
