Gold Digger創作背景

單曲碟CD

《Gold Digger》原本是坎耶·維斯特為説唱歌手Shawnna專輯《Worth tha Weight》而創作的歌曲，但Shawnna並未將其收錄。坎耶·維斯特認為這首歌應該以男性的角度來演唱，所以就將它用於了自己的專輯^[3] 。

2004年初，坎耶·維斯特在巡演的途中錄製完成了該歌曲的第二段副歌；同年，坎耶在參加亞瑟小子的巡演時錄製了第一段副歌；而歌曲的第三段最初選取自坎耶為Murphy Lee製作的歌曲《Drop Dead Gorgeous》（未發行），但坎耶於2005年在紐約的索尼音樂錄音室重新創作並錄製了第三段副歌。該曲對雷·查爾斯的歌曲《I Got a Woman》進行了採樣，傑米·福克斯則演唱了採樣的開頭部分^[4] 。
