Everything Is Borrowed是The Streets的第四張錄音室專輯，Mike Skinner將這張專輯形容為“寧靜的妥協式專輯”("peaceful coming to terms album")，它充滿了平和、積極的氣氛，這與Mike形容為“愧疚驅使的放縱式”("guilt-ridden indulgence")的上一張專輯The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living形成鮮明的對比。

此專同名首單 "Everything Is Borrowed" 在2008年9月29日發行。

在專輯發行的前幾個月，其中"The Escapist"作為免費下載曲目被放在網上分享，隨之釋出的是"The Escapist"的MV。該MV由Mike的好基友Ted Mayhem拍攝，MV中記錄了Mike從多佛海峽徒步行走770英里到達法國的一個沙灘的經歷與技藝。

在專輯錄制過程中，Skinner表明他丟棄的一些音樂作品比在專輯中的還要多，因為他對已錄製的一些不滿意，但是這張專輯確實是一張那些廢棄品的產物，對此專來説這一點很重要。Everything Is Borrowed是The Streets的倒數第二張專輯，Skinner已經提過他籤的是五張專輯的合約，並且他總是對一個集合五張專輯的套裝有所預想。

這張專輯中一共有8首歌曲拍攝了MV，以2009年4月7日發行的"On the Edge of a Cliff"MV告終。("The Sherry End", "Alleged Legends" 及 "The Strongest Person I Know" 沒有拍攝MV。)

專輯能取得怎樣的成績根本不是他想考慮的，更多的，他關心環境物種 (Way Of The Dodo), 給予絕望中的療傷 (On The Edge Of A Cliff), 尋找開明的路 (Alleged Legends)，探索內心世界(Heaven For The Weather).

他可以自由自在地吟唱一曲“The Strongest Person I Know”，雖唱功確實不算好，但是就是喜歡那樣的自由、温暖，背景樂也充滿身處花園般的温馨氣息。

他在“I Love You More”的MV中身處普通的花園，上演一首再平凡不過的生活小曲。

他甚至為了“The Espacist”的MV拍攝，徒步從英格蘭的Dover走到法國一沙灘，行程770英里，逃避現實，釋放心靈。

他還可以在"Everything Is Borrowed"中唱出"I came to this world with nothing,And I leave with nothing but love"，給人無限温情。大家也可以去看下MV，也是比較温馨的。
