Don't cry創作背景
1985年，槍炮與玫瑰樂隊剛組建不久便創作了《Don't Cry》，並於同年秋在洛杉磯錄製了DEMO小樣

。鼓手Steven Adler編寫了簡單卻動人的鼓點部分

。《Don't Cry》是艾克索·羅斯為樂隊寫的第一首歌曲。艾斯·斯塔德林曾和一個女孩交往，艾克索·羅斯也喜歡這個女孩。他們分手後，艾克索·羅斯意識到自己愛上了這個女孩，但她覺得和艾克索·羅斯之間沒有可能。她準備和艾克索·羅斯道別時，艾克索·羅斯開始哭泣，這時女孩説道：“別哭。”（Don't Cry）第二天晚上，艾克索·羅斯和艾斯·斯塔德林在5分鐘內寫出了這首歌

Don't cry歌曲鑑賞
也許沒有人相信一支重金屬樂隊會唱出如此柔情動人的情歌。當主唱艾克索·羅斯干淨而高亢的嗓音唱出煽情的歌詞時，幾乎沒有人能不為之動容。槍炮與玫瑰樂隊在這首搖滾情歌裏展現出了無比倫比的編曲能力，Slash悽豔的吉它solo絲絲入耳扣人心絃；貝司手憂鬱的低音一路滑行，讓人心生恍惚；艾克索·羅斯美麗與殘忍並存的嗓音加上Slash不可思議的手指，堪稱完美。這首歌表達着男性沉穩的胸懷，即使在突然而起的電吉他的鳴叫聲中，依然可以感受到那種安撫的力量，配器與和聲完美無缺，是20世紀90年代初的經典之作

《Don't Cry》的MV由Andy Morahan和Mark Racco共同執導，約翰·林森製作。MV的靈感來自艾克索·羅斯的真實故事。開頭奪搶的一幕，源於艾克索·羅斯和前女友Erin Everly的真實感情故事。艾克索·羅斯想要一槍崩了自己，Erin Everly（MV中由史蒂芬妮·西摩飾演）撲過來奪槍，這是真實發生過的。溺水的鏡頭是MV拍攝中最艱難的一幕，為了拍攝這一幕，艾克索·羅斯差點淹死
