麥當娜·西科尼希望將《Deeper and Deeper》的音樂影片塑造成1970年代的仿古味道，所以就在影片中頂着爆炸頭、身穿喇叭褲、腳踏恨天高，在瀰漫着煙霧的舞池裏盡情跳舞。《Deeper and Deeper》影片中除了可見到麥當娜·西科尼復古打扮的造型之外，還可以看到她與男演員（疑似父親角色）相擁畫面，隱約透露出曖昧的戀父情節 ^[2]  。

《Deeper and Deeper》在專輯首發單曲《Erotica》之後發行，因過於情色的主題已讓許多歌迷產生反感，而使得單曲《Erotica》止步於公告牌百強單曲榜第3名無法再更進一步，並連帶影響到後面所有單曲的成績。果不其然，《Deeper and Deeper》在單曲榜最高只獲得第7名 ^[3]  ，且在榜內停留了17周之久，在1993年公告牌的年終百大單曲榜排名僅佔據第66名偏低峯值。但是，《Deeper and Deeper》在公告牌夜店舞曲榜卻獲得了亮眼的成績：成為該榜單的冠軍舞曲 ^[4]  。
