Chris LeDoux

Chris LeDoux 在踏入鄉村樂壇之前，就有着傳奇般的生活經歷。在美國西部牧場長大的 Chris LeDoux，從學生時代開始不斷參加各種馬術比賽，十五年的職業騎手生涯，使他逐漸成為馬場上的佼佼者，並終於在 1976 年奪得了世界冠軍。

當人們開始談論這位賽場上的新星的同時，他們驚訝地發現，Chris LeDoux 早在 1972 年就開始發行自己的鄉村歌曲專輯了。 Chris LeDoux 並沒有沿襲傳統的鄉村風格，而是開放式地包含了搖滾等其他類型的音樂內容。他的歌曲堅持忠於自己的生活和感受：寫美國西部，寫自己的騎術生活，決不唱痛哭流泣的情歌。

1989 年，鄉村巨星 Garth Brooks 在自己的歌曲“Much too young”中唱到“孤獨的女人和酗酒的惡習，還有 Chris LeDoux 的聽舊的磁帶，是我僅有的伴侶”，當每個人都爭相詢問這個 Chris LeDoux 是誰的時候，Chris LeDoux 和父母在這二十年間已經在自家的車庫裏製作了 22 張鄉村樂專輯，並且獲得了 400,000 美元的銷量。

1999 年發行的唱片輯《20 Greatest Hits》收錄了 Chris LeDoux 個人發行和 1991 年簽約 Liberty 唱片後發行的專輯中，最為大眾和 Chris LeDoux 本人喜愛的多首歌曲。在這張唱片中，他仍然堅守着自己的原則，如“Hooked on an 8 - Second Ride”和“This Cowboy's Hat”刻畫出了他對於騎手生活方式的深切感受。 Bon Jovi 創作的“Bang a Drum”等又充分表現了 Chris LeDoux 多樣的歌曲演繹方式和他對 Rock N'Roll 的鐘愛。而專輯中他和 Garth Brooks 合作“Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy”以及與 Toby Keith 合作的“Copenhagen”更是不能錯過的代表作。
