michael learns to rock即 邁克兒學搖滾 。

邁克學搖滾（Michael Learns To Rock），始建於1987年，曾被形容是斯堪的納維亞音樂傳統與西洋流行音樂的相遇，絕非「丹麥團」三個字就可以解釋。他們全球千萬張驚人的銷售量是一般樂團少有的，邁克學搖滾深入慢搖音樂情感層面並從中精確掌握音符組構成果的能力，使得他們成為丹麥音樂史上最成功的團體之一。邁克學搖滾在家鄉已經有超過五十萬張唱片的銷售，但更驚人的是他們在全球的銷售數字更是高達千萬張之高！其中在亞洲更是掀起一陣狂潮。

1987年，在丹麥的Aringrhus，JASCHA RICHTER 成立了一隻小型樂隊。其中包括後來的兩位MLTR樂隊成員：KARE WANSCHER 和 MIKKEL LENTZ。儘管年齡都不大，但他們都從童年時代就開始接觸搖滾音樂，且都有在其他樂隊演出的經歷。

1988年5月，樂隊正式以“MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK”之名參加了一個在 Ahrus舉行的名為“Dansk Rock Grand Prix”的音樂大賽，最終贏得了冠軍。這次成功使得他們在 Ahrus 地區已小有名氣。同年8 月，在一個偶然的場合，樂隊遇到了後來的老闆兼經紀人JP ANDERSEN。Andersen 意識到這個年輕的樂隊將大有前途，便開始為他們“製造機會”。在其後的兩年中，樂隊在Andersen的幫助下出現在各種音樂節、俱樂部等場合。
