Bring Ya to the Brink創作背景

《Bring Ya to the Brink》是辛迪·勞帕的第九張錄音室專輯，由William Wittman製作，辛迪·勞帕參與了專輯全部曲目的創作^[3] 。

辛迪·勞帕上一張原創專輯還是1997年時的《Sisters of Avalon》，雖説她十年間沒有正規原創專輯，但也一直沒閒着，先是做了一張名《Shine》的翻唱專輯，而後又把自己昔日的老歌重新改編，弄成不插電版的《The Body Acoustic》^[1] 。

《Bring Ya to the Brink》的音樂風格上，雖然能聽到20世紀80年代的合成器音色和鼓機的節奏，但這並不代表《Bring Ya to the Brink》是一張迴歸到20世紀80年代的復古專輯，專輯裏還是與時俱進的加入了不少新鮮玩意兒，把20世紀80初期的新浪潮和20世紀90年代中期的俱樂部舞曲融為一體^[1] 。
