《Break Free》是一首活潑、五彩繽紛且“大膽”的歌曲，從開頭就出現了瑞典女歌手Robyn的影子，但是愛莉安娜·格蘭德在高音上使這首歌超過了Robyn的作品，Zedd也展現了繼《Clarity》和《Stay the Night》後驚人的才華。歌詞“This is the part when/ I say I don't want you/ I'm stronger than I've been before”是凱莉·克萊森的歌曲《Since U Been Gone》中的“I'm still moving on”的升級版。 ^[7]
