Bad Habits

艾德·希蘭製作完他的第五張專輯後，認為專輯收錄曲不夠驚豔 ^[5]  ，所以秉持着探索不同風格的理念創作出了《Bad Habits》 ^[9]  ，他的歌聲不是特別的有力，所以找來了Johnny McDaid、Fred Again參與至該曲的混音製作中 ^[11]  。艾德·希蘭還為該曲精心設計了重低音節拍，希望能給聽眾帶來更驚豔的效果 ^[5]  。

該曲是一首節奏輕快的舞曲 ^[5]  ，展現了與艾德·希蘭過去截然不同的音樂風格 ^[4]  ，艾德·希蘭通過該曲，對糟糕的選擇和不健康的生活方式表達了自己的悔恨之意 ^[5]  。“My bad habits lead to you”（“我的惡習 使我變為你”）等歌詞則體現了艾德·希蘭因有名無實的壞習慣而被置於孤獨、空洞之間 ^[9]  。該曲與20世紀80年代《Smalltown Boy》的合成器風格類似，但沒有那首歌那樣“花裏胡哨”，也沒有效仿出Jimmy Somerville令人愉悦的假聲 ^[10]  。

艾德·希蘭希望能以奇幻的方式讓《Bad Habits》的MV能對觀眾平常的生活習慣有所影響，所以他嘗試了吸血鬼的角色 ^[6]  。他蒼白臉色還化着浮誇深紫色的眼妝，用粉底刻意遮蓋掉眉毛，嘴巴微張露出尖牙，彷彿緊盯着獵物的模樣，與昔日簡約的打扮與靦腆笑容截然不同 ^[8]  。

《Bad Habits》的MV由導演Dave Meyers操刀 ^[4]  ，構想靈感源自該曲歌詞與艾德·希蘭熱愛的電視劇《吸血鬼獵人巴菲》 ^[5]  。MV中加入驚悚元素，作為化身入夜後的吸血鬼領袖的艾德·希蘭，帶領一眾活屍到處惹事生非。導演汲取吸血鬼在早晨來臨前才能使壞的特點，用奇幻風格來呈現“壞習慣”對日常生活帶來的影響 ^[7]  。
