由姐姐Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka與妹妹Amanda Joy "AJ" "Michalka"所組成的Aly&AJ，兩人從小就在教堂的唱詩班中訓練歌唱技巧。Aly在六歲始學鋼琴彈奏，13歲時兼着把玩吉他，同時展開演戲生涯，AJ同樣會吉他與鋼琴外，更是模特兒與演員。從迪士尼頻道出身的Aly&AJ，演過多出戲劇以及演唱多支單曲出現在劇集當中，雖然年紀輕輕，但早已身經百戰朝着全方位藝人闊步邁進。

迅速簽入Hollywood Records的Aly&AJ，於2005年八月推出首張作品《Into The Rush》，創下金唱片銷售紀錄，一路熱賣至2006年，唱片公司決定改版再推出《Into The Rush》豪華加值版，請來資深製作人Jon Lind(Paula Abdul,Barry Manilow,Jesse McCartney)與Leah Haywood(Celine Dion)聯手操盤。充滿青春無敵的流行搖滾曲式《Chemicals React》，為改版獻上襯頭的首攻佳作；Aly&AJ主演的迪士尼電影《Cow Belles》則以《On The Ride》作為主題曲；2005年迪士尼獻出賣座勵志電影《冰上公主》，選擇抒情動人的《No One》配入戲中感動橋段之中；有着電子氣流過癮潤飾的搖滾佳作"Rush"，紛獲電玩遊戲以及電影《Twitches》青睞選用；同為青春偶像琳賽蘿涵主演之《瘋狂金龜車》，歡樂選用Aly&AJ翻唱Katrina And The Waves暢銷夏日搖擺曲《Walking On Sunshine》。環球公司的《美少女拉拉隊4》中使用了她們的作品《Division》，而在08年的電影《歌舞青春3》中開始不久後的派對中使用了ALY&AJ的《Like Whoa》作為背景音樂。

ALY&AJ是一個由青少年組成的流行樂隊。姐妹Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka和Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka 。她們都出生在託蘭斯加利福尼亞州，但她們的童年在華盛頓州西雅圖度過。她們同時為演員，歌手，作曲家和吉他手。

在Aly&Aj很小的時候就顯露出了她們對音樂的熱愛。 “我認為開始是在我們三、五歲的時候。就在演唱會，和學校戲劇裏表演， ”ALY説。後來，當ALY九歲時，AJ也如同她姐姐一樣早早地加入了演藝事業。這對姐妹都與她們父母一同生活在Calabasas, California。她們的母親Carrie Michalka，曾經在一個基督教樂隊"J.C. Band"演唱過 。她們也在Disney頻道劇Phil of the Future有過演出。

2010年，Alyson Michalka主演CW新劇Hellcats。這部劇集由「超人」Tom Welling（《超人前傳》）親自開發並製片。同樣參演這部劇的有Ashley Tisdale。
