艾麗西亞·凱斯表示，她希望《A Woman's Worth》這首歌傳遞的訊息是“你就是值得別人對你這麼好”。她秉承着“尤其對於女人來説，她們不需要遭受不好的對待”和“一個真正的男人應該知道女人的價值”的想法創作了這首歌曲。她認為，雖然這首歌曲的名字叫做“A Woman's Worth”（一個女人的價值），但是歌中所表達的觀點同樣也適用於男人
