被微柔毛的灌木或小喬木；葉片背面具腺點；雄花組成具1-7花的聚傘花序簇生或單生，雌花單花簇生或單生；花4基數，稀5-7基數；果黑色，頂基扁球形或近球形；分核4,平滑，具條紋，稀背部稍具脊，內果皮革質。

國產7種。
