18歲的扎克來自於美國明尼蘇達州，2009年他被確診為骨肉瘤時僅14歲。手術和化療並未遏制癌症的發展。2012年，癌細胞轉移到他的骨盆和肺部。當時，截掉一條腿和部分骨盆可以暫時遏制癌症的發展，但他及家人選擇了保持生活品質，放棄治療。
當他得知自己在與一種罕見的骨癌做無謂的鬥爭，並只剩下幾個月時，他創作併發行了一首名為《雲》的歌曲，感謝自己擁有的時光，並感謝父母和朋友。這首歌曲在網站上廣為流傳，而下載歌曲的全部費用被其家人用來維持一個骨肉瘤基金會。

2012年他告訴記者：“我的情況不允許我沮喪或者生氣，我沒有那麼多時間，我必須積極的生活。”扎克還在關於自己的一部紀錄片中説：“我想讓所有人知道：你不必在發現自己快死了的時候，才開始生活。”扎克的媽媽説，扎克最後的日子裏睡的很多，但他仍舊試着用勁來彈吉他，並快樂地面對朋友和父母。她認為：“扎克一直都擅長這樣做：認識到美好的東西，併為之感恩。這是他發現的道理，並教會我們這是怎樣做到的。”

因身患成骨肉瘤，17歲的少年Zach Sobiech還有幾個月就要告別這個世界。他把時間留給了音樂，錄製的歌曲《Clouds》感動全網。優美平靜的旋律中，看不到對死亡的恐懼，只是流露着淡淡的不捨。眾多明星聯手起來，為Zach拍攝了MV，紀念他最後的日子。

Osteosarcoma is a cancerous bone tumor that develops in children
