研究方向為複合生態系統分析。主要從事流域生態學、水陸複合生態系統管理、區域生態用地評價及規劃方面的研究。主持或負責在研任務包括：科技支撐計劃專題“長白山林區景觀格局配置和景觀恢復技術試驗示範”、國家自然科學基金“區域生態用地分類和區劃研究”、中國科學院知識創新項目課題“城市發展的生態環境脅迫效應”、江西省經濟社會發展重大課題“江西五大水系對鄱陽湖生態影響研究”等。
