達爾湖簡介
達爾湖(Dal Lake)是印度人心目中的聖湖,也是印度海拔最高的湖泊。它處在喜馬拉雅羣山環抱之中,位於印度北方克什米爾地區(Kashmir)的夏季首府斯里那加(Srinagar)城內。達爾湖作為斯里那加最重要的自然資源和旅遊資源,被稱為“克什米爾皇冠上的珍珠”,是印度北方的旅遊目的地。
達爾湖是斯利那加的一個湖。是查謨-克什米爾邦的夏季首府。這個城市之湖,是該領土上的第二大湖泊。達爾湖和克什米爾地區的旅遊娛樂緊密型相連,素來被稱為“克什米爾皇冠之珠寶”

達爾湖方圓18平方公里,是21.1平方公里自然濕地的一部分。湖中有浮動花園,也被克什米爾人稱之為“Rad”,這個花園在7月和8月會佈滿綻開的蓮花。濕地被墊高的堤道劃分為四個部分,Gagribal湖, Lokut Dal湖, Bod Dal 湖和Nagin湖(Nagin湖也被認為是獨立湖)。Lokut Dal湖和Bod Dal 湖的中心各有一個島嶼,人們分別稱之為Rup Lank (或 Char Chinari) 和Sona Lank。

目前達爾湖和其周圍的蒙戈爾花園、沙利瑪爾·巴格(Shalimar Bagh)、尼沙特·巴格(Nishat Bagh)沿岸正在進行集中的整修工作,這是為了解決湖泊引起的嚴重的超營養作用問題。印度政府每年投資巨大金額(約2.75億美元)想將湖泊修復回原來的美景。

歷史
在1707年奧朗則布(Aurangzeb)死後,蒙戈爾王朝瓦解,普什圖人(Pashtun)部落駐紮在這個區域,城市數量也增長了。

杜蘭尼帝國(Durrani Empire)統治了這個城市有好幾十年。在1814年,包括斯利那加在內的,克什米爾流域重要的一部分,被拉賈·蘭吉特·辛格(Raja Ranjit Singh)統治的帝國吞併。錫克人在這個地區擴大影響力長達27年。

在英國拉吉(British Raj)時期,英國人也被這片涼爽之地吸引,也將斯利那加作為夏季首府,克什米爾流域背景是喜馬拉雅山脈,人們能看見雪景。湖泊的温度冬季在1–11 °C (34–52 °F) ,夏季温度在12–30 °C (54–86 °F)。在嚴冬的時候,大概温度達到−11 °C (12 °F),湖泊會結冰。即使克什米爾的多格拉·瑪哈拉嘉(Dogra Maharaja)限制在這片流域建造房子,英國人仍然迴避了這個規定,他們在達爾湖上造了奢侈的船屋。這些船屋被認為“每一小件都可以看做英格蘭漂浮在達爾湖上”。

印度獨立後,克什米爾漢吉人建造、擁有並維護這些船屋。同時他們也培養了漂浮花園,併為市場提供商品,這也成為了他們的謀生之道。這些船屋和達爾湖緊密相連,同時也提供了在斯利那加的住宿。
