她用她的歌聲講述着學校裏種種情景,球場、啦啦隊、角落裏的座位、舞會上的美麗邂逅……這些熟悉的場景和平常的故事被她用聲音演繹得無比真切。出自其中的The Best Day是一首寫給母親的温馨讚歌,與專輯中其它抒發小女生感情的歌曲相比，The Best Day顯得尤為獨特和感人。

這首歌是獻Taylor母親Andrea的，是Taylor在錄製第二張專輯Fearless的時候想對母親表達自己的愛和感恩。這首歌是以講故事的方式敍述的。剛開始的時候她説到她當時才5歲，那個時候的她什麼都不懂，只覺得母親是世界上最勇敢的人。後來到了13歲，她被同學排擠，很委屈，但她的母親對她格外温和，同她談心……這就是"the best day"的事。她以樹木的季節變更來表示她的成長，而到歌曲最後表示她現在長大了，也懂得了很多道理，但是有一點沒有變化，就是她永遠愛她的母親，永遠感激她。

在Taylor十二三歲的時候，因為對鄉村音樂的執着，又成為當地的小明星，受到學校同學的排擠，她感覺很委屈很孤單，她的媽媽帶着她遠離他們住的小鎮去散散心。

當然在歌中Taylor也表達了對爸爸和弟弟的熱愛，説我有個很棒的爸爸，他的力量讓我變得更加強壯。上帝親吻我的小弟弟，他哪方面都比我強。

這首歌是Taylor瞞着媽媽錄的，MV也是Taylor翻遍小時候的家庭錄像自己剪輯的，為了給媽媽一個驚喜。當Taylor媽媽第一次聽到這首歌，看到家庭錄像的時候都沒有反應過來那是Taylor在為她唱歌。

Taylor説：我是在路上寫的這首歌，我沒有告訴我的媽媽。我決定我要保密這件事，要在聖誕節的時候給她一個驚喜。我在暑假寫的這首歌，然後我偷偷和我的樂隊在錄音室裏錄歌。之後我把那些相關的家庭錄像和歌搭配起來。她在歌放了一半的時候都沒有發現是我在唱歌。她完全沒有想到我能在她不知道的情況下為她寫歌唱歌。當最後她發現的時候，她的眼珠都要掉下來了
