約翰·羅傑斯於1989年從德克薩斯大學奧斯汀分校畢業；1992年獲得麻省理工學院物理學和化學碩士學位；1995年獲得麻省理工學院物理化學博士學位，同年擔任哈佛大學研究員協會初級研究員；1997年加入貝爾實驗室，擔任凝聚態物理研究部技術人員；2000年至2002年擔任貝爾實驗室凝聚態物理研究部主任；2003年至2016年在伊利諾伊大學厄巴納/香檳分校任教；2009年至2012年擔任美國國家科學基金會資助的納米制造納米科學與工程中心主任；2012年至2016年擔任Seitz材料研究實驗室主任；2016年加入西北大學，擔任材料科學與工程、生物醫學工程和醫學學科Louis Simpson and Kimberly Querrey講席教授，併兼任生物集成電子中心創始主任

約翰·羅傑斯人物經歷
1989年，約翰·羅傑斯從德克薩斯大學奧斯汀分校畢業，獲得化學和物理學學士學位。
1992年，從麻省理工學院畢業，獲得物理學和化學碩士學位。
1995年，從麻省理工學院畢業，獲得物理化學博士學位。
1995年—1997年，擔任哈佛大學研究員協會初級研究員。在此期間，還擔任Active Impulse Systems的創始人和董事，該公司將他博士期間開發的技術商業化。
1997年，加入貝爾實驗室，擔任凝聚態物理研究部技術人員。
2000年底—2002年底，擔任貝爾實驗室凝聚態物理研究部主任。
2003年—2016年，在伊利諾伊大學厄巴納/香檳分校任教，擔任Swanlund主席，主要在材料科學與工程系任職，並在化學系、生物工程系、機械科學與工程系以及電氣和計算機工程系聯合任職。
2009年—2012年，擔任美國國家科學基金會資助的納米制造納米科學與工程中心主任。
2012年—2016年，擔任Seitz材料研究實驗室主任。
2016年9月，加入西北大學，擔任材料科學與工程、生物醫學工程、機械工程、電氣工程和計算機科學、化學和神經外科的Louis Simpson和Kimberly Querrey教授，還擔任生物集成電子中心創始主任
