異丁香酚甲醚用途
存在於多種精油中，用於配製康乃馨型和東方型香精，也用於異丁香酚的變調劑。
廣泛用於石竹、玫瑰、紫丁香、依蘭等花香型香精作定香劑並可給予特別格調。適用於珞利亞型(香水用)、東方香型、辛香型及木香型香精。偶爾作為辛協調劑用於香莢蘭豆、巧克力等食用香精，煙草香精中亦用之。
異丁香酚甲醚製備或來源
由異丁香酚經甲基化而製得。將異丁香酚加於氫氧化鉀液中，在攪拌下加入硫酸二甲酯，析出的油層經蒸餾而成。
