王向東人物經歷

1983年畢業於南京大學地質系,1992年獲中國科學院南京地質古生物研究所博士學位,1997年至1999年日本學術振興會博士後(日本福岡大學地球圈科學系客座研究員)。1999年入選中國科學院“百人計劃”,2005年獲得國家自然科學基金委“傑出青年基金”資助,新世紀百千萬人才工程國家級人選。2000年起任中科院南京地質古生物研究所研究員,2008年-2018年任中科院南京地質古生物研究所副所長。2018年11月起任南京大學地球科學與工程學院教授。 [1]

王向東研究成果

2022年5月2日,由南京古生物所陳吉濤研究員與南京大學王向東教授、美國加州大學戴維斯分校伊莎貝爾·蒙特尼資教授等領銜的國際合作團隊在國際著名的科學期刊《美國科學院院報》(PNAS)上合作發表一項重要研究成果:與當前地球環境類似的約3億年前的晚古生代大冰期期間,曾發生一次短暫的巨量碳排放事件,引起了海洋缺氧及海洋生物多樣性顯著降低。 [2] 

王向東學術成績

完善石炭紀-二疊紀全球性和區域性年代地層系統,作為參與者在中國廣西建立了二疊系樂平統底界金釘子;識別出四射珊瑚的多樣性演替與晚古生代古環境變遷密切相關;在東特提斯地區識別出可能與晚古生代冰期有關的旋迴性沉積特徵;恢復滇西泛岡瓦納各個微板塊的演化歷史。發表學術論著100多篇。 [1]
