緣續他鄉

本片是個奇情浪漫的愛情故事，講述年青貌美的理代被姑母迫婚，隻身由日本遠赴夏威夷，與照片中那個年青俊俏的未婚夫松治相聚。抵步後才發覺松治竟是個身無分文，在蔗園工作的中年男人。心灰意冷的理代於是努力賺取旅費返回日本。離別之際，理代遇上亡友加奈及聽到她誠心的叮囑，令她認識緣份的真諦，最終回心轉意，從回丈夫的懷抱，延續他鄉未了緣。

相片的出現，對人們的生活也發生了影響。二十世紀早些時候，人們僅僅通過看看對方的照片，就定下了兩個人的婚姻大事，不管這兩個人相距多遠。 美代，一個年輕的女人，在父親去世後，就剩下孤零零的一個人在日本，她的一位親戚幫她也通過照片，定下了一門婚事。從對方的來信中，美代看到對方是一位年輕帥氣的小夥子，還在心中寫下了一首優美動人的詩歌。帶着對美好未來的憧憬，美代隻身一人來到了遠離家鄉的夏威夷。

可是，來接她的聲稱是她丈夫的人，卻是一位上了年紀，甚至比自己父親歲數還大的中年男人，這讓美代無法相信眼前發生的一切是真實的。原來，這位男人真的是她的丈夫，照片上的年輕人也真的是他，因為他沒有近照，只能把年輕時的照片寄去，作為相親之用。知道了一切原委的美代很難接受事實，她無法忍受自己的下半生都要與這個比自己父親還老的人生活。經過了一段痛苦的掙扎，在一個與自己一起幹活的名叫香奈的女人的建議下，她決心通過自己的勤勞和努力攢下一筆錢還給自己的丈夫，然後回日本。可是，歲月和生活，總是在人們不經意間就會漸漸改變一個人。丈夫的歉疚，悉心的照顧，善解人意地尊重她，還有生活的艱辛讓美代的心慢慢地越來越想依靠丈夫。

電影，以夏威夷的拓荒年代為背景，在描述美代的曲折經歷的同時，也描摹了一羣在夏威夷的甘蔗地勞作的日本勞工的生活，雖然生活艱辛，但是他們的心靈深處同樣有着愛情、親情，對美麗自然的熱愛和對未來的美好憧憬。

同時，我從電影裏，隱隱感覺到影片透露出來的一種思想，那就是對家的尋找。失去父親的美代，在剛來到夏威夷時的諸多不適，讓香奈以為她在思念日本的家鄉，而美代卻回答她自己沒有家，這時的家，是美代心目中有親人，有愛人的地方。可是面對陌生的夏威夷，陌生的丈夫，她卻毅然決然地想要回到日本，彷彿日本又成為了心目中抽象的家的象徵。最後，生活讓美代和丈夫真正的融合在一起，美代道出了，夏威夷，我的家。

是的，人在面對生活時，往往顯得那麼地無助,心中對未知的未來充滿了疑問，這一切，我們都只有請時間這位智者為我們解答，即使面前的一切看來是那麼的不能如願，時間也會慢慢地為我們揭開生活的面紗，發現，其實幸福，美麗就在我們身邊。
