1934年，比·蒂奧萊（Pierre Tiollais）出生。
1960年，任巴黎醫院實習生。
1967年，任法國國家衞生研究院（INSERM）研究員。
1968年，獲得巴黎大學醫學博士學位。
1972年，任職於巴黎醫院；同年，任Lariboisière Saint-Louis醫學院生物化學系副教授。
1982年，任巴斯德研究所實驗室主任。
1988年，任巴斯德研究所教授、INSERM U 163研究室主任。
1991年，任巴黎第七大學聖路易斯拉里博伊西埃醫學院教授；同年，當選為法國科學院院士。

比·蒂奧萊在國際上第一個將乙型肝炎病毒（HBV）的基因組全克隆成功，並第一個報告了其全順序；表面抗原、核心抗原等HBV基因的全順序和基因組的組織結構的闡明，將乙肝病毒的研究推進到分子水平的新階段，這項成就獲得國際上的承認和引用；他在基因工程疫苗和乙肝與肝癌等方面都做出了研究及貢獻。 [1]
