森普爾人物生平
埃倫森普爾於1863年1月8日的內戰中出生在路易斯維爾肯塔基州。
到她16歲時，她在紐約的Poughkeepsie學院學習。
森普爾參加瓦薩學院，她在19歲時她就獲得學士學位，歷史學士學位。她是全校的第一名，在1882年是最年輕的研究生。
繼瓦薩，森普爾回到路易斯維爾，她教她的姐姐開辦了私人學校。
在1887年她的母親到倫敦，森普爾遇見了一名剛剛完成了博士的美國男子在萊比錫大學（德國）。
她回家就完成碩士寫的論文題目奴隸制的工作：一個社會學的研究和學習社會學，經濟學，歷史，這使她獲得了她的碩士和學士學位。
