And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh I kept the first for another day
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence

早上醒來外頭下着雨
我從窗外望去
看到的是道路繁忙車水馬龍
突然想起了
弗羅斯特這首詩未選擇的路
人生如旅想象一下
在一片金黃色的樹林裏
你的眼前突然出現了兩條岔路
但很遺憾的是你無法同時涉足
所以你站在路口久久佇立
向着其中一條極目望去
直到它輾轉蜿蜒消失在叢林的深處
這兩條路看起來何其相似
所以你猶豫躊躇着
但最後你卻選擇了另外一條路
因為它荒草萋萋
看起來更渴望你踏入
或許召喚你的不是路而是心
回想起來我們自己的生活當中
總是有許多如此的瞬間
在晨光的沐浴下
兩條看似相差無幾的道路
被埋在落葉之下不曾有人走過
於是你安慰自己
把身後的路留給另一天吧
但其實你很清楚
今天你所踏上的這條路
必將連接着更多未知的道路
今天的這個路口這個選擇回不去了
或許也無需再眷戀
多少年以後
當你想起這個早晨這段往事
或許你會輕聲嘆息
當時那片美麗的金黃色的樹林
為你展開了兩條路
而你選擇了人跡更少的那條
也從此決定了一生的道路
弗羅斯特這首詩
是我留學時學到的第一首英文詩
對我而言它伴隨着許許多多的回憶
沒想到多年之後
還能有機會與它重逢
帶給我更深的感觸
人生的路是由自己來決定的
無論踏上哪一條
