2001.9-2007.1，博士，華中農業大學，國家植物基因研究中心（武漢）：師從中國﹠美國科學院院士張啓發教授進行水稻分子生物學研究，圖位克隆法分離水稻光週期敏感雄性核不育基因 pms1；比較基因組分析候選基因區段秈粳稻進化；
2007.6-2010.5，伊利諾伊大學芝加哥分校研究人員；
2010.7-2020.12，浙江農林大學農業與食品科學學院講師；
2020.12-，浙江農林大學現代農學院副教授。
於金生研究領域
主要從事智能水稻研發和比較哲學研究。
