承德外八廟

《承德外八廟（英文版）》避暑山莊周圍的喇嘛教寺廟羣是依照西藏、新疆喇嘛教寺廟的形式修建的，以供邊疆少數民族的貴族朝覲皇帝時禮佛之用。共12座，其中的8座由清政府直接管理，故被稱為“外八廟”。廟宇按照建築風格分為藏式、漢式和漢藏結合式三種，它們融和了漢、藏等民族建築藝的精華，氣勢宏偉，具皇家風範。這些風格各異的寺廟是當時清政府利用宗教作為籠絡手段來團結蒙古、新疆、西藏等地區少數民族而修建的。它們多利用向陽山坡層層修建，主要殿堂聳立突出、雄偉壯觀。 ^[2]
