1980.09-1984.07吉林農業大學農學系學習，獲學士學位。1984.09-1987.07吉林省農科院研究生，獲碩士學位。1992.03-1994.12在東北農業大學博士研究生，獲博士學位。1995.02-1996.11在華南農業大學博士後工作站工作。1997.12-2001.12在華南農業大學工作，副教授，碩士生導師。2001.12－至今，教授，博士生導師。其中1999.10 -2000.10 在日本岡山大學資源生物研究所，訪問學者。 ^[1] 

長期從事作物遺傳育種學科的科研工作，主要研究方向是大豆、玉米遺傳與育種。先後主持省部級以上資助的科研課題20多項。育成大豆品種17個，是8個國審大豆（華春1號、華春2號、華春3號、華春5號、華春6號、華夏1號、華夏3號、華夏4號）和2個省審大豆（華夏5號、華夏2號）新品種的第一育成者。另外，是3個省審玉米新品種（明甜6號、華玉8號、華糯8號）的第一育成者。
