The vision of Medicine Hat College was created in 1964 and the first students (97 full-time and 11 part-time) were accepted in 1965 and housed in temporary quarters provided by Medicine Hat High School. The college moved onto its own campus in 1971 and by 1979, the Brooks Campus was established. In 1983, the Cultural Centre, a partnership venture with the City of Medicine Hat, was opened on the main campus to accommodate the Conservatory of Music and Dance. Substantial growth continued over the years including partnerships with other institutions across the country and around the globe.

梅迪辛哈特學院 ^[1]  （Medicine Hat College）誕生於1964年，距今已有40多年的歷史。1965年，梅迪辛哈特學院在梅迪辛哈特高中臨時營房招收了第一批學生，包括97名全職學生和11名兼職學生。梅迪辛哈特學院在1971年建立自己的校園，到了1979年，布魯克斯分校校園正式成立。1983年，梅迪辛哈特市政府和學院合作在主校園建立文化中心，以容納音樂與舞蹈學院。梅迪辛哈特學院經過長年發展發生了大幅變化，比如與加拿大乃至全球其他大學建立合作關係。
