南開大學人口與發展研究所

南開大學人口與發展研究所成立於1983年 ^[4]  ，是全國第一家人口與發展研究所 ^[2]  ，其前身是1979年11月李競能先生創建的人口理論研究室 ^[1]  ，是一家致力於教學、科研和社會服務的學術研究機構，首任所長由著名人口學家、經濟學家、中國首位人口經濟學博士生導師李競能先生擔任 ^[1]  。

該所設有人口、資源與環境經濟學，人口社會學和勞動經濟學等三個研究室；掛靠單位有南開大學老齡發展戰略研究中心，南開大學人力資本研究中心，以及天津市人力資源開發協會。開設人口、資源與環境經濟學，勞動經濟學等兩個二級學科。研究內容包括人口經濟學理論，人口變化及其與經濟發展的關係，人口資源環境與可持續發展之間的關係，人口政策；人類遷徙和城市化，人力資本，勞動力市場與就業，人力資源開發與管理；婚姻與家庭，社會與性別，婦女與發展問題；人口老齡化和社會保障等 ^[4]  。

該所在人口經濟學、人口老齡化等研究領域享有較高聲譽。研究人員擔任學界重要領導職務，主持多項國家級重點研究項目，並獲得了包括中華人口獎在內的諸多獎項。已與國家衞生健康委員會、國家統計局、中國老齡協會、人力資源和社會保障部、教育部、中華全國婦女聯合會，以及天津市相關政府部門等建立密切合作關係。該研究所還與許多外國學術機構和非政府組織保持密切的學術交流 ^[4]  。

現（曾）任教於該所的著名學者有：李競能（著名人口學家、經濟學家、中國首位人口經濟學博士生導師、前中國人口學會副會長 ^[2]  ），原新（人口學家、經濟學家、中國人口學會副會長 ^[5]  ）、李建民（人口學家、經濟學家、前中國人口學會副會長 ^[6]  ）、譚琳（全國婦聯副主席） ^[7-8]  等。

Founded in 1983, Institute of Population and Development of Nankai University is an academic research institution mainly focusing on teaching, scientific research and social services. It has set up three research offices, including the research offices for population, resource and environmental economics, sociology of population, and labor economics. The institute is affiliated to the Aging Development Strategy Research Center and the Human Capital Research Center at Nankai University, and Tianjin Human Resource Development Association. ^[4] 

The institute has two second-level disciplines: population, resource and environmental economics, and labor economics. Its main research topics include the theory of demographic economics, demographic change and its relationship with economic development; the relationship between population, resource, environment and sustainable development; population policy; human migration and urbanization; human capital, labor market and employment, human resource development and management; marriage and family, society and gender, women and development issues; population aging and social security issues. ^[4] 

The institute has made remarkable achievements in its research work and enjoys a high reputation in academia for the research on human capital and population aging. The teachers have presided over a number of key national research projects and won many awards, including the China Population Award. The institute has established close relations with relevant state ministries, such as the National Population and Family Planning Commission, the National Bureau of Statistics, the China National Committee on Ageing, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Personnel, the All-China Women's Federation, and relevant government departments in Tianjin. The institute has also maintained frequent academic exchanges with many foreign academic institutions and non-governmental organizations. ^[4]
