蟲媒病毒分佈廣，種類多，公共衞生負擔重。近幾十年來，天然免疫領域的研究更多集中在哺乳動物宿主中，而我們對病原體的天然傳播媒介——節肢動物昆蟲的免疫系統如何抵禦病原體感染還知之甚少。本課題組將利用果蠅強大的遺傳學工具，結合細胞生物學、生物化學等手段，致力於闡明昆蟲媒介中存在的抗病毒天然免疫分子機制，並在此基礎上進行抗病毒藥物研發，為治療人類蟲媒病毒傳染病奠定基礎。
