2020年，美國電視節目製作公司迪克·克拉克公司（DCP）與美國全國廣播公司（NBC）宣佈，受新冠肺炎疫情影響，原定於4月29日在拉斯維加斯舉辦的年度公告牌音樂獎頒獎禮將延期舉辦 [1]  。

公告牌音樂獎獎項沿革

自從其初創以來，公告牌音樂獎一直由福克斯電視網播出，但是由於協議到期和其他一些不可預見的因素，獎項在2007年被取消。
2008年，重辦該獎的嘗試失敗，該頒獎禮一直停擺到2011年。
從1989年~2006年，該獎項一直保持固定的獎項和名稱設置。2011年，所有的獎項都被重命名為“最佳[獎項名]”（Top [award title]）的形式。所有獎項名中的“年度”字樣都被去掉，部分獎項進一步做了調整。
2011年2月17日，《公告牌》宣佈它將重啓公告牌音樂獎的電視直播，轉投美國廣播公司，於2011年5月22日播出。
2015年5月17日，2015年度公告牌音樂獎揭曉，美國女歌手泰勒·斯威夫特（Taylor Swift）奪得包括“年度最佳藝人”，“年度最佳女歌手”和“排行榜成就大獎”等八個獎項。 [2-3] 
2019年5月2日，2019年公告牌音樂獎在美國舉行，Drake包攬最佳藝人、最佳男歌手、最佳公告牌200專輯等三個大獎。A妹獲得最佳女歌手、公告牌成就獎等，卡迪·b獲得最佳説唱歌曲、最佳Hot100單曲獎。 [4]
