波動方程反演，爆破震動數值模擬，震源等效，信號分析，地球物理參數識別，震源參數識別，與震動相關的流固耦合問題等；結構碰撞，防護結構性能分析，高速公路安全設施評估與開發，侵徹與反侵徹問題等；偏微分方程及其數值分析，解的特性分析，有限元方法，無網格方法，數值流形方法以及圖象分析，優化等。主持和承擔了多項交通部關於高速公路安全設施方面的研究和開發項目；國防重點基金項目；國家基金項目；二炮陣地防護科研項目等。參加"三峽三期圍堰爆破拆除方案設計與研究"項目，負責爆破震動的分析與數值模擬工作。參加中國科學院重要方向項目"滑坡災害防治中的關鍵工程力學問題"，負責滑坡地質結構和力學參數的識別問題的研究。近年來主要從事爆破震動問題及相關的數值方法的研究，對爆破震動信號的激發特徵進行了深入的瞭解，提出了並證明了爆破震動信號源的主要特徵是爆破後爆點周圍一定範圍內的地質結構的自振特徵的觀點，並利用這一結果提出了岩土體宏觀強度特徵的原位測試方法和軟弱夾層等特殊界面的探測識別方法。

1.結構碰撞：包括汽車碰撞、穿破甲、防護結構等的機理研究、實驗和數值模擬。 2.波的傳播和相關的反問題：爆破震動傳播、爆破震源模型、震源反演、工程地質反演等。 3.結構分析：結構分析、優化、控制，智能結構分析，參數識別等。

現任中國科學院力學研究所研究員、中國科學院力學研究所學術委員會委員、中國科學院力學研究所學位委員會委員。
